West Caldwell Man Admits to Locker Room Theft, Police Say
Laptop reportedly stolen while Caldwell man was working out.
A West Caldwell man was charged with stealing a laptop from a locker at a West Caldwell gym Friday, police officials said.
Matthew Raabe, 25, faces a third-degree theft charge after police say he admitted to taking a laptop from the men’s locker room at Sky Club Fitness, 750 Bloomfield Ave., on Friday morning.
The owner of the laptop, a 32-year-old man from Caldwell, said the computer was taken while he was working out just before noon. The victim told police he had a lock on the locker that must have been cut off.
Corporal Brian Joy and Det. Sgt. Shaun O’Dowd of the West Caldwell Police reviewed video surveillance and identified a man entering and leaving the locker room as Raabe, police said.
Officers went to Raabe’s house, where police say he was arrested after admitting to the theft. Raabe told police there was no lock on the locker.
A lock was not recovered at the scene, police said.
Raabe is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, March 6.

I agree...It does not matter why he had it there. It's to bad we now blame the Victim..

It's just today's culture to look for a reason to blame the innocent for the behavior of the weak minded. I am sure the defense attorney will find a way to blame the victim or the thiefs parents for why he did what he did.
