Motor Vehicle Thefts Rise in the Caldwells

New Jersey releases 2011 Uniform Crime Report.

 

Car thefts rose last year in the Caldwells while overall crime remained stable, according to the New Jersey Uniform Crime Report released by the Attorney General last week. 

Four car thefts were reported in Caldwell in 2011, compared to none the year before. In North Caldwell, four motor vehicles thefts were reported in 2011, compared to one the year before, and in West Caldwell the number of reported car thefts rose from 8 in 2010 to 18 in 2011.

The figures are part of an annual report that looks at violent and non-violent crime in New Jersey, which saw an overall 3% increase in crime.
