Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band fans can stop jonesing for live shows. The first U.S. leg of the 2012 Wrecking Ball World Tour has been announced with three Jersey stops on the schedule.

Springsteen and his band will appear on April 3 and 4 at the Izod Center in East Rutherford. The band will end the U.S. run by returning to Bruce’s home state on May 2 to perform at the Prudential Center in Newark. Tickets for all Jersey shows go on sale this Friday, Jan. 27, at Ticketmaster.com.

The U.S. tour kicks off on March 18 in Atlanta, just 12 days after the highly anticipated release of Springsteen’s 17th studio album, Wrecking Ball.

The first single, "We Take Care of Our Own," was called "classic Springsteen" with "anguish and challenge [that] run thick and fast" by Rolling Stone. Billboard called it a "richly orchestrated Wall of Sound... that nods to the Born to Run era.”

The May performance will be Springsteen’s first at the Rock in Newark. It will also be his first tour since the band’s beloved saxophonist, Clarence Clemons, died last June. (Patch interviewed Caldwell resident and band photographer, A.M. Saddler, shortly after Clemons' death.)

The E Street Band's line-up, according to an announcement from the Prudential Center, is notably absent of a sax player.
