Six-Year-Old Sells Art to Help Arboretum

Read local artist Lisa Palombo's blog to find out why she is blooming with pride over her daughter's thoughtful act.

Local artist Lisa Palombo is known for her floral paintings. Turns out her daughter is passionate about nature, too.

Six-year-old Ruby was distraught about the damage caused during the late October snowstorm of 2011 to one of her and her mom's favorite places, Reeves-Reed Arobretum in Summit.

At Palombo's Holiday Open Studio in December, Ruby exhibited and sold some of her own paintings, asking for a small donation towards "saving the trees" at Reeves-Reed.
