District Employee Gets Green Thumbs Up

Roseland-based Smart Little House commends choice of non-toxic paint for Caldwell-West Caldwell Schools.

Stuents, faculty and staff at Caldwell-West Caldwell Schools can "breathe easier," according to a plaque presented to a district employee at Monday night's Board of Education meeting.

Superintendent of Maintenance and Operations Frank Ennis was recognized by a representative of Smart Little House for choosing non-toxic, zero VOC paint for the district's buildings. The district will receive a plaque to display in each school where the paint has been used.

Chris Murphy of Roseland-based Smart Little House said Ennis should be commended for choosing the Mythic paint line and as a result improving the indoor air quality in the schools.

Murphy said children are more susceptible to toxins in the environment and with the amount of time children spend in schools, a non-toxic paint is the healthier choice.

Smart Little House is the only dealer of Mythic paint in New Jersey, according to Murphy.
