Merchandise Now 75% Off at Rite Aid
Pharmacy closed last month with prescriptions transferred to Walgreens.
The Rite Aid in Caldwell is preparing to close, with remaining merchandise now discounted by 75%, according to signage outside the store.
The store closed its pharmacy in late March and reopened on Saturday, March 31 to begin liquidating. Greeting cards, vitamins and other items were removed from the store before liquidation began.
The store will remain open for “a couple of weeks or until a sufficient amount of the merchandise is liquidated,” Eric Harkreader, a spokesperson for Rite Aid, told Patch.
All prescriptions were transferred to the Walgreens in West Caldwell.
“It’s a seamless transition. Customers’ prescriptions and prescription records are transferred automatically,” Harkreader said.
The Rite Aid location employs about half a dozen sales associates, some of whom have been offered a position at other area Rite Aid locations.
The store closing was a “business decision based on the individual stores’ performance,” Harkreader said. “Unfortunately, it no longer made financial sense to operate at that location.”
