Children's birthday parties have come a long way since the days of piñatas and pin the tail on the donkey. 

Today, kids in the Caldwells can choose to celebrate their birthdays at gyms, movie theaters, art studios and more—with multiple venues located within minutes of their homes. 

We polled Patch readers all week long in search ot the best place to have a party, and the winner surprisingly emerged in the Comments section. A majority of readers clicked on "Other" and professed their love for Planet Kidz in Fairfield.

According to their website, Planet Kidz, located at 7B Spielman Road, is "a gym for children ages 10 months-12 years old offering classes in gymnastics, dance, yoga, and arts & crafts."
