Mount Saint Dominic Academy basketball player Camille McPherson is only the sixth player known to score 1,000 points in the school’s history, according to a release from the Mount’s Athletic Department.

The Lions senior reached the milestone Tuesday when the Mount defeated Bloomfield Tech, 66-49. Camille scored 17 points in the game.

Camille is the third player to surpass 1,000 points under head basketball coach Jerry Aquino.

The Mount was defeated, 41-36, by Shabazz in the Essex County Tournament semi-final round on Feb. 16.

The seventh-seeded Lions open up in the state tournament Non Public A sectional on Feb. 26, at 7 p.m., versus Union Catholic.
