Jefferson School Students Win D.A.R.E. Essay Contest

The essay contest asked students to explain everything they learned throughout the year from the program.

Two students at Jefferson Elementary School recently won a D.A.R.E. essay contest and were greeted by officers at the school.

Fifth-graders Stephanie Eckhardt and Ania Bargielski won the essay contest, coming in first and second place, respectively. The entire school participated in the Drugs Awareness Resistance and Education program throughout the year, where local law enforcement officers worked with students to bring them fun and educational material about the personal and social consequences of substance abuse and violence.

Caldwell officers visited Jefferson Elementary School each week to educate the students about the D.A.R.E. program. The essay contest asked students to explain everything they learned throughout the year.
