Five James Caldwell High School performers have been accepted into the North Jersey Region I Choruses, Scott Chamberlain, Supervisor of Music for Caldwell-West Caldwell Schools, announced this week.
The students include: freshman Nicole Bruno, Alto I, and sophomore Anna Rizzotti, Soprano I, who were accepted into the Women’s Chorus; sophomores Madeline Caracappa, Soprano II, Regina Peters, Soprano I, and sophomore Eileen Funnell, Soprano I, who were accepted into the Mixed Chorus.
The students auditioned along with hundreds of performers from throughout North Jersey in January. Students were asked to demonstrate a variety of vocal skills, including diatonic major scales sung one octave ascending and then descending, chromatic scales, a memorized solo judged on quality, intonation and musicianship, and tonal memory, according to a release from the district.
The James Caldwell students will perform in a concert on Saturday, Feb. 9, at 4 p.m., at Secaucus High School.
