Election Preview: North Caldwell Schools
A guide to the North Caldwell Board of Education election.
The North Caldwell Board of Education voted earlier this year to move school board elections to the November general election, a change made possible by a new state law. The school board elections will remain non-partisan.
There will be no vote on school budgets since the new law allows districts to approve a budget without a voter referendum so long as the budget satisfies a mandated 2% cap to the tax levy.
In North Caldwell, Steven Hadley and Maryadele Wojtowicz are not seeking reelection. Each has served as a board member for six years.
Two candidates filled out applications for the vacant seats, Jann Skeleton and Marianne Bohrer.
