David Harris of the NY Jets Leading the Way to Give Kids Hope

Golf outing at Green Brook Country Club in North Caldwell raises funds for camp for underprivileged children.

The second annual Give the Kids Hope Foundation, David Harris Invitational took place on Monday at the in North Caldwell.

Participants of the golf outing had a chance to meet and mingle with New York Jets MVP and number-one supporter of the foundation, David Harris. Harris has become the face of the Give the Kids Hope Foundation, inspiring many less fortunate youngsters with his enthusiastic participation and recalling that his own upbringing led him to join the group. "We grew up with so much love, we never knew we were poor," Harris said.

The foundation, which was founded by Stephen Tilton Jr. of Schumacher Chevrolet, has goals that include rebuilding Camp Hope in West Milford. For decades the camp has welcomed underprivileged children from around northern New Jersey. The camp has also worked with Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo Jr.to support programs at Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange that benefit less fortunate children.
