Crop of New Businesses Up and Down the Avenue
Welcome to Iron Physical Therapy, Jersey Mac's and a shiny new Dunkin Donuts. Coming soon: Pink Bungalow.
Just a quick drive up and down Bloomfield Avenue in Caldwell and you are sure to see some changes. A crop of new and newly renovated storefronts have popped up in the downtown in recent weeks. Here's what we know:
Let’s Get Physical
Last week, Iron Physical Therapy, located next to David Chad Beauty Parlor at 396 Bloomfield Ave., opened its doors. Owner and local resident Geno Mayes was looking to do business in his own hometown when the perfect location cropped up.
Mayes is the son-in-law of long-time resident and local dentist Dr. Edward Baker located on Smull Avenue, Caldwell. “A lot of my family lives in town and I wanted to be able to work in town,” said Mayes. “Now, we’ll be walking to work.”
Mayes will continue to work with his current employer, Morristown-Memorial Hospital, Morristown, but will be available at his new business location for both referrals and drop-ins to provide end-to-end therapy options, including orthopedics, physical therapy and more.
Said Mayes, “It will be nice to finally meet more of the neighbors.”

Up the road from Iron next to Beyond Knits and Needles, you can't miss a new storefront that is, well, bright pink! The shop, Pink Bungalow, is scheduled to open in the next few weeks and will carry a variety of stationery, confections, jewelry, gift items and more. Stay tuned for more news on this very pink addition to the Avenue.
It’s a Fact, Mac's…
… is open for business! The long-awaited restaurant, Jersey Mac's, opened its doors a week ago Monday for breakfast and lunch. The restaurant is currently accepting cash and checks only, but credit cards will be up and running soon. So stop by, say hello, and check out the unique menu items, including fresh muffins baked on the premises and a signature coffee blend. Mac's has arrived!
Coffee-holics who frequent the Caldwell Dunkin Donuts were forced to find another spot for a caffeine fix while the Bloomfield Avneue location closed for renovations. Fear not! The store reopened its doors on Friday, Feb. 18, after a two-week interior renovation hiatus. The coffee and donut shop now boasts the chains signature pink, brown and orange décor, complete with more seating areas. So, stop by for a cup of Joe and check out the new look.
