A construction worker fell off a second-story roof in North Caldwell Monday while trying to secure a project from the wrath of Hurricane Sandy.
Police say a 44-year-old man from Caldwell has been transported to St. Joseph's Medical Center in Paterson after he slipped and fell about 20 feet.
The man was working to secure a construction project at his client's home on Cambridge Road.
The accident happened at about 3 p.m. during wet and windy conditions. But Police Chief Mark Deuer said it is believed the man slipped and was not blown off the roof.
His injuries are not life-threatening, Deuer said.
