I take Christie at his word that he didn't want the #2 slot. He has sufficient self-knowledge to aspire to be The Big Dog. He'll run for prez in 2016 and I wouldn't underestimate him or overestimate the intelligence of the national electorate.
JoeF, let's not wish our governor on the whole country. Among other things, as a leader, he sets a poor example when it comes to interpersonal relationships and civil discourse between people with different opinions. Children deserve better role models.

And Gail, based on the surveys that I've heard about, more than half of NJ residents approve of Christie's performance, so I believe that he will be re-elected. That's especially likely because the NJ Dems don't appear to have a clear stand-out candidate who can do battle with Christie and win. They mostly seem afraid of his bluster.

Thomas K, I was surprised by Romney's VP choice and I confess that I don't know on what his decision was based. I view Ryan as controversial, extreme and, therefore, risky for Romney. Both Christie and Ryan are political hacks. Ryan backed every Bush program ever proposed, including wars and Medicare Part D. Similarly, Christie obeyed AG Gonzalez' command to go after Democrats instead of drug dealers, gun runners and corporate thieves.
We are still waiting for Christie to reduce taxes instead of reducing services for the same amount of tax money.
