CBS' John Elliot to Support Walk to Cure Diabetes

All are welcome to participate in Washington School fundraiser benefiting JDRF.

CBS 2 weatherman John Elliot will be at Washington Elementary School's Walk to Cure Diabetes this Saturday, the school's Helping Hands Committee has announced.

Elliot, an area resident, will preside over the ribbon cutting at the start of the race at 10 a.m.

The fundraiser for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) will take place in West Caldwell at James Caldwell High School’s Bonnel Field. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.

Pre-registration will be $25 per family, $15 per individual. The first 200 registrants will receive a water bottle and a bracelet. Registration on the day of the event will be $30 per family, $20 per individual.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to JDRF.

The Walk to Cure Diabetes concludes Washington School’s Helping Hands Week, a week set aside to teach children about giving back to the community.

Participants of the brisk walk are asked to bring healthy children's snacks for the Caldwell Food Pantry.

To register or make a donation, visit Washington School’s JDRF page.

Once again John Elliott supports the local community. Have seen him at schools, cub scouts, etc. How lucky are we to have him in our own neighborhood. Thanks, John. We appreciate it.

John is willing to get up on his day off and come out and give of himself-That's quite commendable. He's not a guy that walks thru the neighborhood with his nose in the air like so many other figures in the media may. He's one of us,we're fortunate to have him in town.
