Caldwell and West Caldwell were among 16 municipalities and 40 non-profit organizations to be presented with grant money by the county Tuesday.

West Caldwell was awarded a $62,780 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to add ADA compliant street ramps throughout the township.

A Community Development Block Grant in the amount of $70,900 was awarded to Caldwell for the reconstruction of Grove Street.

North Caldwell did not submit any grant applications, according to a release from the county.

Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo Jr. presented a total of $5.9 million in grant money from the CDBG program and the Emergency Shelter Grant program on Tuesday.

Both grant programs are funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and administered by the Essex County Division of Housing and Community Development.
