Rotary/Kiwanis Caldwell Street Fair Never Quits [Photos]
The rain was on and off but the fun was always on at the 21st annual Rotary/Kiwanis Caldwell Street Fair.
The Rotary/Kiwanis Caldwell Street Fair is known for lots of things, from a huge 50/50 raffle to the beer truck and band behind the Cloverleaf Tavern to the hundreds of vendors and food trucks that line Bloomfield Avenue every first Sunday in October.
The street fair is also known for its perfect record. The fair, which turned 21 this year, has never been cancelled because of weather. Despite intermittent rain Sunday, the show went on with thousands of area residents coming out to enjoy the West Essex tradition.
They brought their umbrellas, rain boots and slickers and beelined to their favorite spots, from the root beer truck with the tin souvenir mugs to the crab cake sandwiches at Caldwell Seafood and the pulled pork sandwiches at Hog Wild BBQ.
Proceeds from the annual street fair are given back to the community by the Rotary Club of the Caldwells and the Kiwanis Club of Caldwell-West Essex.
