It's show time.

AMC Entertainment converted its Essex Green Shopping Center theater venue, 495 Prospect Ave., West Orange, into New Jersey's first and the nation's fourth entertainment eatery where movie goers can attend a film while eating dinner.

The initial cost is $10 for a ticket and then either an additional $15 "experience charge" to watch and eat in the Cinema Suite or an additional $10 in the Fork & Screen. The Cinema Suite is geared more towards adults, while the Fork & Screen is more family-oriented. Food prices range between $3 to $15. There are four Cinema Suite theaters and five Fork & Screen theaters in the West Orange venue.

The roughly $5 million dollar project took about three months to construct since the movie theater giant closed in August.

The massive renovation also includes a full-service bar called MacGuffins. Drinks range between $5 and $10.

An admission policy for the theater is 18 and older unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. The Cinema Suites only are for guests 21 or older.

A typical showing, according to AMC documents obtained by Patch, will be as follows: Within five minutes of seating, greet guest and place drink order; within 10 minutes of seating, drink orders are received and food orders are placed; within 15 minutes of food order, prepared food arrives; periodically during the film, consumed food is pre-busssed; within 30 minutes of end of movie, checks are delivered and payment collected; within 15 minutes of end of movie, receipts are delivered to guests.

View the audio slide show below to listen to Justin Scott, AMC's Corporate Communications director, and Jason Henderson, AMC's director of theater dining, discuss the revamped cinemas and its food. The tour starts with MacGuffins, then continues to define a Cinema Suite and a Fork & Screen.
