North Caldwell, N.J. (July 13, 2012) – Spencer Savings Bank, a community bank headquartered in Elmwood Park, N.J., proudly announces the winners of its annual scholarship program.  Among the winners are local students Danielle Perri who attended West Essex Regional High School in North Caldwell, N.J., and Megan Groome who attended West Essex Regional Middle School in North Caldwell, N.J. Spencer Savings Bank granted Danielle with a $1,000 scholarship and Megan with a $500 Coverdell Education Savings Account (CESA) for the hard work they have shown throughout the entirety of their educational career and their dedication to the community’s growth and well-being.

Since the program was founded in 2002, Spencer Savings Bank has awarded a total of $248,000 in scholarships to youths in the communities it serves. This year, Spencer Savings Bank’s $22,500 scholarship fund was divided among 15 high school students and 15 middle school
students located within the bank’s communities. The criteria assessed in determining the quality of the candidate consisted of the applicants’ academic record, history of community service and future interest in a career in business, finance or banking.
