John I. Crecco Foundation to Host 47th Annual ‘Project Heartbeat’ Charity Ball

The John I. Crecco Foundation will host its 47th Annual Project Heartbeat Dinner Dance on Friday, October 19, 2012, at the Mayfair Farms Restaurant in West Orange. Along with an exquisite cocktail hour, the black-tie-optional event includes a sit-down dinner, a live orchestra and dancing. The Mayfair's popular Venetian table will top off the evening.

The Foundation dates back to 1964 as the benefactor for Columbus Hospital's Cardiac Care Unit. It has since raised over $1 million for cardiac care facilities throughout the state. Over the years, the Foundation has funded emerging technologies such as cystic fibrosis ambulatory equipment, dialysis machines and defibrillators for police and emergency teams, which have saved countless lives.

With an ongoing and heartfelt concern for youth, the Foundation's standard bearer, John Crecco, has sponsored hundreds of Little League and youth teams. For 36 years the Crecco Athletic Club has held its annual Junior Olympic Track and Field Meet, where thousands of medals are given to proud recipients, some of whom have advanced to Junior Olympic teams. The Foundation's "Choose Life, Not Drugs" program has funded drug awareness education for youngsters, informing them of the dangers of drugs.

The Foundation has selected the following honorees this year for their extraordinary contributions:  "Man of the Year," Carmine Pannullo, Vice President, Market Manager at Investors Bank; "Woman of the Year," Madeline B. Wollner, Bloomfield Educational Foundation Chairwoman; "Chiropractor of the Year," Dr. Donna A. Pontoriero, D.C.; "Physician of the Year, " Arthur R. Liberman, M.D.; "Community Service Award," Alfonso Crincoli, Foley Field Revitalization Committee Chair and Founder of the Foley Field Foundation; "Law and Public Safety Award," Steven L. Rogers, Nutley Commissioner.

Tickets for the fundraiser are $150 each or $1400 for a table of 10.  To purchase tickets, please call 973-857-1925, email jicreccofdn@comcast.net, or visit the John I. Crecco Foundation website at www.johnicreccofoundation.com.
